Ilya Bolotowsky (July 1, 1907 – November 22, 1981) was a leading early 20th-century painter in abstract styles in New York City. Chryssa Vardea-Mavromichali (Greek: Χρύσα Βαρδέα-Μαυρομιχάλη; born December 31, 1933 - December 23, 2013 in Athens, Greece) was a Greek American artist who worked in a wide variety of media. An American art pioneer in light art and luminist sculpture^[1][2] widely known for her neon, steel, aluminum and acrylic glass installations,^[3][4] she has always used the mononym Chryssa professionally.^[2] She worked from the mid-1950s in New York City studios and has been working since 1992 in the studio she established in Neos Kosmos, Athens, Greece.
